His reel life seems to have taken a cue from his real life, which justifies his tryst with roles of a lovelorn man.
The actor, who has played a divorcee in 'Uttaran' and is doing the same in 'Gulmohar Grand', will repeat the act for the third time in Pearl Grey's 'Doli Armaanon Ki'. He will be seen as superstar Aakash Kumar, who is going through a troubled marriage.
Talking about the character, he says, “The life of a star is not always like it is perceived by the outsiders. Their personal life might look hunky-dory from outside, but that may not be be the case.“
Incidentally, Gaurav has not had a smooth run in matters of the heart in his real life. Ask him about the possibility of art imitating his life and he laughs, “Somehow my reel life goes through a similar phase as my real life. So when I am in a relationship, I would be shown happily married on screen, and if the relationship ended, I would be seen as a divorcee!

Playing an intense character like this is a bigger challenge than playing a happily married guy . Personally, of course, I would like to be happy and I am expecting a happy ending is round the corner.“
Is he hinting at settling down soon? “Yes, I have been saying that for a while. I can't comment on my relationship status as yet, except for the fact that I am exploring a potential relationship. I guess so many onscreen relationships have taught me the dos and dont's of a happy married life,“ he replies.
