With the symphony of late afternoon raga Patdeep, sitar player Shubhendra Rao began the inaugural concert of SPIC MACAY’s Sangeet Sudha at Humayun’s Tomb World Heritage Site Museum auditorium on Friday.

The tunes of the sitar were accompanied by the rhythmic beats of the tabla by Mithilesh Jha. “The collaboration between SPIC MACAY and Sunder Nursery will help classical arts to reach wider audiences,” said sitarist Shubhendra Rao.

The evening concluded with a light classical composition, showcasing jugalbandi between Rao’s sitar and Jha’s tabla. The attendees were seen absorbed in the nuances of the ragas and musical compositions played by the duo.
