Since the latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) aired, Bachchan shared how it is emotionally tough to see some of the Fastest Finger First contestants leave empty-handed after a week of hoping to secure a spot on the hot seat. He said that it is hard to control the frustration of defeat and lost opportunity, not just for the contestants but for him as well. He added that watching the contestants leave without getting a chance to play affects him too, and is “deeply shattering.”
Bachchan admitted that it is “emotionally shattering” to watch the contestants’ eyes full of hope with tears when the week ends, the buzzer sounds, and their opportunity slips away. He explained how many of them left behind their jobs, studies, or other important commitments just for a shot at the game, only to go home empty-handed. In those moments, no amount of comforting words can truly make them feel better.
He said all he can do in that moment is offer them a smile, encourage them to try again, and remind them that losing is not the end but just a lesson to move a step forward.
Quoting a Hindi saying, he wrote, “मन का हो तो अच्छा; नाहो तो ज़्यादा अच्छा” (If things go your way, it’s good; if they don’t, it’s even better), stating that life’s challenges often lead to growth.
He also reflected on how, as the show moves forward, his thoughts often stay with those who tried their best but did not win, rather than the actual winners. “Life is a tough job,” he wrote, acknowledging that such moments are hard to face but are a part of the journey.
Kaun Banega Crorepati season 17 began just a few days ago, and in an upcoming Independence Day special episode, Amitabh Bachchan will welcome three remarkable women from the armed forces — Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force, and Commander Prerna Deosthalee of the Indian Navy. The special episode is set to air on August 15.
