Murugha Mutt rathotsava attracts devotees

Dharwad: The 96th annual Jatra Mahotsava of Shri Madathani Muraghendra Mahashivayogi was celebrated with grandeur at the Murugha Mutt in Dharwad on Sunday.
Amid chants of devotion, the ceremonial chariot was taken out from the Mutt and moved along the Saundatti Main Road up to the Haveripeth Depot Circle before returning to the Mutt premises. Bhajana troupes, Jaggalagi, Hejjemeḷa, Jaanj and various cultural teams participated in the procession, adding colour and vibrancy to the festivities. Thousands of devotees lined the roadsides offered coconuts, bananas, oranges, flowers and dates to the chariot, expressing their deep devotion.
The chariot procession was flagged off by the seer of Murugha Mutt Mallikarjun Swami.
Earlier in the day, a Lingadeeksha ceremony was held, during which hundreds of children were initiated.
