Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education dept has extended the deadline for submission of applications for admission into undergraduate (UG) programmes across Odisha for the academic session 2026-27.
As per the revised admission schedule released by the department, students can now submit their Common Application Form (CAF) through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal till 11.45 pm on June 16, 2026.
The revised timeline aims to provide additional time to aspiring students to complete the admission process under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework. The department has advised applicants to carefully select their preferred major and minor subjects while filling up the CAF. Students seeking admission to Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programmes (AEDP) can also apply through the SAMS portal.

According to the revised schedule, the first-round provisional allotment of seats will be published on June 22. Selected students will be required to report to their allotted institutions for admission from June 23 to 25.

The second and final round of seat allotment will be announced on July 2. Candidates selected in this round can pay admission fees between July 2 and July 6, while reporting at allotted institutions will take place from July 3 to July 6.

To fill vacancies remaining after the first two rounds, the department will conduct a waiting list/spot admission round. The list of wait-listed applicants will be published on July 8, followed by physical reporting of interested candidates at respective institutions on July 9 and July 10. The merit list of eligible wait-listed candidates will be published on July 13.

The dept has set a target to begin undergraduate classes for the 2026-27 academic session by July 10, ensuring a timely commencement of the academic year.
