Two held for driving girl to suicide

HYDERABAD: Upset with overtures of her neighbours, a 17 year-old Intermediate student committed suicide by hanging at her house in Laxmapur village of Shamirpet mandal on Tuesday.
Saranya's father Mallesh, a farmer, lodged a complaint alleging that his daughter committed suicide due to harassment by two youngsters.
“A 17-year-old Degree first year student and a 20-year-old auto driver, S Narsinga Rao, from Laxmapur, were harassing the victim,“ Shamirpet inspector A Sattaiah said.
Police registered a case under section 306 (abetment to commit suicide) of the IPC against the two.
“We have arrested both the offenders and produced them in court on Thursday,“ the inspector added.
