MUMBAI: Leading real estate developer Niranjan Hiranandani has approached the Bombay high court for quashing a chargesheet filed against him by the CBI. His plea says that the 2010 chargesheet does not disclose any criminal conspiracy, cheating or forgery on his part.
Hiranandani is sought to be made vicariously liable because he is a director of the Hiranandani Group Companies, though no one has complained to the PF authorities of non-receipt of their PF dues, the petition contended. There is no crystallised liability as no inquiry was ever done under Section 7A of the PF Act, which is mandatory said the plea filed through lawyer Brian D'Lima.
