The fifth round of the 2023 Formula One season comes from the 5.412 km long Miami International Autodrome circuit in United States for the Miami Grand Prix - making it the second consecutive year for the circuit to be hosting an F1 race. After a dramatic Q3, it was Red Bull's Sergio Perez who secured pole position for the GP, with teammate Max Verstappen qualifying in ninth as a result of Charles Leclerc's Ferrari spinning out which resulted in a red flag.

2023 Miami Grand Prix Qualifying 1With a lap of 1:27.363s, Verstappen managed to top Q1, with Carlos Sainz 0.323s behind in P2, and Sergio Perez securing P3 ahead of Leclerc in fourth. Kevin Magnussen managed to take P5 in the first qualifying. Lando Norris, Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargeant were disqualified in Q1, and hence, will be lining up from 16th to 19th in the main race respectively.

2023 Miami Grand Prix Qualifying 2Reigning Champion Max Verstappen led the second qualifying as well, with Leclerc 0.150s off in P2 and Alonso 0.283s off in P3. Sainz took P4, while Perez emerged as the fifth fastest.
Alex Albon, Nico Hulkenberg, Lewis Hamilton, Zhou Guanyu, and Nyck de Vries were knocked out in the second qualifying.
2023 Miami Grand Prix Qualifying 3Sergio Perez set a provisional pole time of 1:26.841s with Alonso 0.361s behind in second. Meanwhile Leclerc's Ferrari went spinning through the sky-blue runoff area and red flags flew, ultimately ending the Qualifying and resulting in Perez taking pole position. While Leclerc ended up taking P7 himself, current Championship leader Verstappen was pushed down to P9 after not being able to go out for a flying lap in the dying moments.
Fernando Alonso joins Perez on the front row, with Carlos Sainz starting on P3. Kevin Magnussen starts the Miami GP from fourth, ahead of Pierre Gasly in fifth. George Russell will be lining up on sixth, ahead of Leclerc, Ocon, Verstappen, and Bottas respectively.
