Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer,
Ola is all set to deploy electric cabs in ride-hailing business with a fleet of 10,000 cars. The brand is in the final stages of rolling out this pilot program in the coming weeks.
Ola’s upcoming EVs will be referred to as Premium fleet and it will be operated by the ‘top-rated drivers’. These cabs will provide benefits, such as 100% ride assurance post allocation of the cab and zero cancellations.
Moreover, it will facilitate 100% cashless transaction payment options as well.
“Electrification of the ride hailing fleet is the next frontier for the industry and a huge step in the direction of the future of mobility. Our roadmap of developing in-house core technologies and products that can be leveraged across group level gives us a very strong competitive advantage in the ride hailing business,” says Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Ola Electric.
Further, he added, “We are completely reimagining this segment to not only improve the driver and consumer experience, but also offer clean and green mobility options eventually to 500 million Indians.”
Earlier in July 2022, Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Ola Electric revealed the “indigenously made Li-ion cell!” via Tweet. Moreover, the company invested $500 million for setting up the Battery Innovation Centre (BIC) in Bengaluru in order to cover cells regarding R&D.

Ola has the biggest ride hailing network across the nation with operations in 200 cities. Once Ola's premium EV fleet launched, it will rival Uber and BluSmart Electric Mobility.
