Adani Electricity targets 60.% power purchase from renewables by 2027

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), the operator of Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd, aims to increase its renewable energy procurement to 60% by 2027, up from the current 38%. The focus will be on solar and wind sources, contributing to a 40% reduction in Greenhouse Gas emissions. Notably, the company successfully met 100% of Mumbai's electricity demand with renewable energy on Diwali day for four hours. Additionally, AESL is committed to environmental conservation.

MUMBAI : Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), which owns and operates Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd, is on track to procure 60% of its total power purchase from renewable energy by 2027, up from current 38%, an official said on Friday.
The source will mainly be solar and wind and will aid in reducing the company’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission by 40%.
This comes close to the heels of the company meeting 100% of Mumbai’s electricity demand through renewable energy on Diwali day for four hours (10am to 2 pm), he added.

The company planted 24.3 million mangroves and 3.28 million trees, demonstrating its dedication to reforestation and environmental conservation, an official statement mentioned. “Overall, the Adani Group has committed to plant 100 million trees by 2023, of which 30 million are already planted,” said AESL managing director Anil Sardana.
