Air India has today revealed its new collection of uniforms for its cabin and cockpit crew. Renowned Indian fashion designer,
Manish Malhotra, has designed these uniforms in his Mumbai studio. The new uniforms showcase a variety of colors and timeless designs, blending India's rich heritage with contemporary style, elegance, and comfort, as stated by the airline in a press release.
The introduction of the new uniforms will be done in stages over the next few months, starting with the launch of Air India's first Airbus A350.
The color palette of the new uniforms includes deep red, burgundy, aubergine, and accents of gold, paying homage to India's cultural heritage, according to the airline.
The development of the new uniform designs involved close collaboration with Air India's cabin crew representatives and the In-flight Services team. They conducted extensive testing to ensure the functionality and appeal of the new designs.
Campbell Wilson, the CEO & Managing Director of Air India, expressed his confidence that Manish Malhotra's innovative ensemble will shape an exciting new chapter for the airline. He believes that these uniforms capture the essence of Air India's new identity, service principles, and their commitment to setting new standards in global aviation.

Air India Pilot Uniforms For Winter
Manish Malhotra, the designer behind the uniforms, aimed to create outfits that reflect India's diverse culture and traditions while exuding a modern and sophisticated look. By incorporating symbolic Indian hues, his intention is to make the crew feel proud and leave a lasting impression on the guests, representing the warmth and hospitality that India is renowned for.
In September it was reported that Manish Malhotra has been tasked with creating fresh uniforms for more than 10,000 frontline employees of Air India, which includes cabin crew, cockpit staff, ground personnel, and security staff. This initiative aligns with the Tata Group airline’s ongoing modernization efforts and its pursuit of a new global brand identity.
