NEW DELHI: Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed India's massive improvement in the
World Bank '
Ease of Doing Business
' rankings as the "outcome of the all-round & multi-sectoral reform push of Team India."
"Historic jump in 'Ease of Doing Business' rankings is the outcome of the all-round & multi-sectoral reform push of Team India," he tweeted soon after the rankings were released.
India has jumped 30 places to reach the 100th spot this year, in a reflection of reform-driven improvement in access to credit, power supplies and protection of minority investors.
The PM said that the ease of doing business in India was leading to "historic opportunities for our entrepreneurs," especially those engaged in the MSME sector. He emphasised that India was guided by the mantra of "Reform, Perform & Transform" and was determined to scale greater economic growth.
He added that the spirit of "positive competition among states" that was fostered over the last three years has been "beneficial."
"It has never been easier to do business in India. India welcomes the world to explore economic opportunities our nation has to offer!" he tweeted.
