PUNE: A delegation from the
International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center
(CIMMYT) led by
Dr Bram Govaerts
, Director General,
CIMMYT
& BISA recently met Dr Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General
ICAR
to discuss issues concerning agriculture, wheat and maize production.
The deliberations focused on strengthening the existing partnership between ICAR and CIMMYT. Both organizations also agreed to work together to address the challenges in the field of agriculture, particularly in the areas of wheat and maize production.
They decided to work together in on CGIAR, a global partnership that unites organizations engaged in research for a food secure future. The two would be revisiting priorities that CIMMYT and ICAR could address jointly by sharing information and technical expertise from its global outreach.
