The Department of Posts on Tuesday introduced three premium delivery services with guaranteed 24-hour and 48-hour timelines for urgent and time-sensitive consignments, news agency PTI reported.
The services — 24 Speed Post, 24 Speed Post Parcel, and 48 Speed Post — were introduced by communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
In the initial phase, the services will be available in six cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The department will rely on dedicated processing systems and priority air transport to meet delivery commitments.
The minister said the launch marks a moment of renewal for
India Post and highlighted significant growth potential ahead. The e-commerce market, he noted, is expected to expand to Rs 30 lakh crore by 2030, nearly three times its current size of Rs 11 lakh crore.
According to an official statement, the services will include OTP-verified deliveries, end-to-end tracking, and real-time SMS alerts.
For businesses, features such as ‘Book Now, Pay Later (BNPL)’, centralised billing, and API integration will be available. Bulk shipments will also get free pickup, along with a money-back guarantee in case of delays, PTI reported.
