NEW DELHI: Paytm Mall has delisted a chunk of its logistics partners today -- a move that comes shortly after delisting 85,000 sellers. This has put a stop to deliveries to 9,000 pin-codes where guaranteed assistance in returns and replacements was not assured. Paytm was delivering to 26,000 pin-codes earlier but after this move, it will cater to 17,000 pin-codes.

A statement by the company said that this has been done to keep in line with its mission to establish India’s most trusted commerce platform. Eyeing to establish a reliable logistics ecosystem which has transparency in delivery and replacement timelines, Paytm says that it routinely evaluates its existing logistics partners and aggregation centers to review their performance.

Paytm recently rolled out an app password feature for its e-wallet app. The feature is aimed at ensuring that the money in your wallet remains safe even if you lose your wallet.
Avoid keeping too much money in your e-wallet. It may appear convenient, but then as they say there is nothing unhackable. Every information that you share online has the risk of getting leaked.
Saving your card information in your e-wallet is a strict no. Always avoid it. It may seem convenient but is dangerous. In case, you have saved for a certain transaction, always go back and delete it once the transaction is complete.
Always read this simple tip for your e-mail accounts, follow it for your Paytm and other mobile e-wallets too. Also, never entertain calls asking for your e-wallet credentials or credit/debit card details.
Sounds very obvious, but it becomes all the more critical when your smartphone is your wallet too. So, don't forget to get that anti-virus on your smartphone. The way anti-virus is critical for the safety of your PC and laptop, it is important for your smartphone too.
Don't just depend on SMS notifications for information related to transactions you make through your e-wallet. Always link them to some e-mail account as well. This way you can keep a better record of your transactions. As SMS notifications may get deleted or missed.


It was based on this audit and buyer feedback that Paytm delisted 6 out of 14 logistic partners and 30 courier aggregation centers.

Going forward, Paytm plans to expand its reach by offering a network of trusted logistics networks to its partner shopkeepers and brand authorized stores across all pin-codes.

Speaking about the move, Amit Sinha, chief operating officer, Paytm Mall said, "We are building India’s most trusted online shopping destination by ensuring we work with trusted shopkeepers and logistics partners only. We believe working with fewer retailers and pin-codes that leads to a superior customer experience is more important than rapid expansion. We remain committed to expanding our coverage in due course by increasing the set of serviceable pin-codes and number of merchant partners in a gradual manner."




Recently, Paytm Mall had revamped the seller onboarding process. Now, sellers have to undergo quality and service audits in order to list their products on Paytm Mall. For the audit, they are required to submit their registration number, shop location, shop photos, brand authorization letters and GSTIN among other details. According to Paytm, this helps them block fraudulent merchants from signing up for their platform.

It was a result of these new guidelines that the company had to delisted over 85,000 sellers and their products from Paytm Mall.
