Agra: A 25-year-old married man and an 18-year-old woman, missing from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, were found dead on a railway track near Darshana village in Mursan police station area of Hathras on Tuesday.
The bodies were discovered lying approximately 20 m apart. According to the police, identity cards and railway tickets recovered from the spot helped establish the identities of the deceased.
The woman had been reported missing on May 30 in Gwalior, where her family had subsequently registered a case alleging abduction. The man worked at a canteen in Gwalior.
“The two knew each other and were allegedly in a relationship. Prima facie, it is a case of suicide,” said a police officer privy to the development. Investigators said all angles, including suicide and foul play, are being examined.
Mursan SHO Arvind Saxena said the families of the deceased have been informed and local authorities are coordinating with the Gwalior police. “The bodies have been sent for postmortem,” Saxena added.
