Ahmedabad sees spike in cases of fever, cold
Hospitals are also witnessing OPD patients complaining of fever, body ache, blocked nose and fatigue. A senior hospital administrator said that hospitalization has not increased except iin dengue cases.

Cough, low-grade fever? Viral or dengue: Doctors dilemma
Doctors in Kolkata are finding it challenging to recognize the early symptoms of dengue during the ongoing outbreak. The usual signs have been misleading this time, with platelet drop occurring faster and mild fever leading to sudden hemorrhage. Many dengue patients also have a respiratory illness, which is unusual. Hospitals and doctors are being cautious while screening and treating dengue patients. Efficient fluid management is crucial in managing capillary leak caused by respiratory tract infection.
393 dengue cases in hospitals in 17 days
The health department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has reported that there have been 393 cases of dengue in city hospitals and urban health centres from September 1 to 17. In the same period, there were 83 cases of malaria, eight cases of falciparum, and six cases of chikungunya. The department has taken measures to control mosquito breeding, such as placing pesticide-soaked string balls in areas with water accumulation. The number of dengue cases is expected to rise due to current weather conditions.
Private hospitals in Kolkata reopen fever clinics to screen patients
Private hospitals in Kolkata have restarted their fever clinics to screen dengue patients, as the queue for admissions lengthens. Due to high occupancy, hospitals are prioritizing those with severe symptoms while advising others to take medicines and report if their condition worsens. Medica Superspecialty Hospital and Woodlands Hospital have both restarted their fever clinics, while Desun Hospital has opened a fever clinic at its emergency department. Peerless Hospital, RN Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, and AMRI Hospitals are also managing dengue patients through screening facilities and prioritizing admissions based on severity.
