NID convocation: Student’s email complains about event handling
Ahmedabad: A graduating student of the National Institute of Design (NID) wrote an email to the director and senior officials on Friday morning to register a protest against the way the ceremony was handled. The email termed the event a "bureaucratic sham" and a "stage for political theatrics". About 30 students responded in the trail mail even as the student's email ID was blocked by authorities. The Student Activity Council (SAC) of NID said the thoughts expressed in the email were only of some students and not necessarily reflecting the sentiments of all the students. "Our parents, the very people who paid the hefty fees that keep this institution running, were treated like outsiders, restricted to Eames Plaza," stated the email. NID director Ashok Mondal was not available for comment. tnn
