Two more AMTS bus routes to use BRT corridor

AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has decided to include two more AMTS routes in the BRT system. The two AMTS routes are 123 from Vasna to Bapa Sitaram chowk and 127 from Sarangpur to Sukun Bungalows.
These routes will be moved to the BRT corridor from Lokmanya Tilak Baug to Sarangpur. AMC, to ease of congestion on roads has decided that to move buses of Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service on to the BRT track to ease traffic in the mixed lane.
Officials said that AMTS first carried out an experiment in the western parts of the city by introducing AMTS buses from Shivranjani to Sardar Patel Ring Road on the BRT corridor. After AMC officials found the experiment to be successful, they decided to introduce the buses on the BRT track. The officials said the BRT track has now been renamed ‘urban transport corridor’.
The officials said that in the future, almost all buses moving parallel to the BRT track will be moved on to the track, especially in areas which are congested.
