ALLAHABAD: Bodies of two youths were found near Allahabad Degree College (ADC) in Beniganj under Khuldabad police station.
Initial police investigations revealed that the duo were shot dead. The bodies were later sent for postmortem. The deceased were identified as Ajay Kesharwani, 24, and Paltoo Bharatiya, 25, residents of Karbala.
The situation became tense at Karbala when the family members of the deceased accused four policemen, including a sub-inspector, of youth's murder.

The family members and locals also blocked the Karbala Road and gheraoed police outpost demanding action against the cops.
Khuldabad police, on the other hand, claimed the deceased youths were wanted in connection with a burglary case. The names of Ajay and Paltoo surfaced in police records after their aide, Sunny, a resident of Karbala, was nabbed in Luv Kush Nagar while making an abortive burglary bid.
Khuldabad police further claimed that Sunny was caught but his four aides, including Ajay and Paltoo, had managed to escape. When Sunny spilled the beans about his gang, the police teams carried out raids at their suspected hideouts but the accused remained at large.
SP Crime AK Pandey told TOI, "A case under Section 302 of IPC has been lodged with Kluldabad police against four police personnel including Sabji Mandi police outpost in charge." He added that senior police officers have been instructed to conduct a detailed probe into the incident.
Pandey said they were waiting for the postmortem reports to take further action in the case.
