Aggrieved by the deletion of K E Syam Babu’s name from the chargesheet, Lakshminaranaya Reddy’s wife, Sridevi, had filed a private complaint before a court in

Dhone

town of Kurnool district.

The trial court found substance in Sridevi’s allegations that the police was unduly influenced by the power of K E Syam Babu’s family and hence his name was removed from the chargesheet filed in the case The trial court had issued a non-bailable warrant against K E Syam Babu. He approached the High Court seeking to quash the case against him. Justice Shameem Akther has called for records and reserved the judgement.
