He emphasized that the state government is actively promoting renewable energy while ensuring reliable and affordable electricity for all consumers. The policy includes incentives, a single-window clearance system, and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to boost investments in solar, wind, pumped storage, battery energy storage, green hydrogen, and biofuel technologies.
The initiative is expected to attract investments worth ₹10 lakh crore and generate around 7.5 lakh jobs across the clean energy value chain.
TUDA is also planning to develop climate-resilient villages within its jurisdiction by coordinating with various departments.
As part of this effort, the climate action plan implemented in Kandulavaripalli gram panchayat was highlighted as a model.
Additionally, he discussed greenhouse gas emission estimates within municipal corporation limits, noting that Tirupati receives approximately 18 million visitors annually. This creates significant peak demand on utilities and services, especially during festival seasons.
TUDA vice chairman R Govindarao accompanied the chairman at the forum.
