AURANGABAD: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) Aurangabad on Thursday arrested a woman talathi for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 150 from a farmer at her office in Bhadji village in Khuldabad taluka.
DySP Prakash Kulkarni said that the complainant's grandfather owned a farm land in Sonkheda village in Khuldabad taluka. The mutation entries related to land were made in the name of his cousin.
He wanted to know the details and thus had applied for the copy of the document at the office of talathi Vandana Bhingare, 44, in Bhadji village.
When the complainant approached Bhingare on January 6, she allegedly asked him to pay Rs 150 bribe for the copy. He filed a complaint with the ACB, who laid a trap at Bhingare's office on Thursday and arrested her when she accepted powdered currency notes, Kulkarni said.
