Angry parents thrash headmaster

BANGALORE: The headmaster of Gururaja Education Society in Kamakshipalya was thrashed on Saturday morning for alleged sexual harassment of primary school students.
Chaos prevailed near the school when angry parents of the students started beating D Gangadharappa, the accused who is also the maths teacher. While police who rushed to the spot took him into custody and booked him under section 354 of IPC.

The school management suspended him immediately.
The headmaster's alleged misbehaviour came to light when the mother of a 4th standard student found some marks on her body recently. "Initially, the girl hesitated to say anything. But after some persuasion, she opened up. When her parents discussed the issue with other parents, more such shocking incidents came to light,'' police said.
A resident of Srinagara, Gangadharappa has been working in the school for the past 30 years. Some parents charged that he never misbehaved openly. "He used to wait for an opportunity and take a single girl to his chamber or sometimes to the staff room on some pretext. But none of his colleagues were aware of it. He even lured his victims by giving them chocolates and biscuits. He used to threaten them if they resisted,'' they alleged.
Ganghadarappa said: "I don't want to comment anything at this moment."
WHO IS GANGADHARAPPA?
A native of Channagiri in Davanagere, D Gangadharappa is the headmaster and maths teacher at Gururaja Education society in Cauverypura, Kamakshipalya. He had a clean record. He has a son and a daughter, both in their early 20s.
UNDER WHAT SECTION IS HE BOOKED?
He is booked under section 354 of IPC which deals with assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty. The punishment is imrpisonment which may extend to two eyars or fine, or both.
