On Wednesday morning, the first assault against the Congress was launched by BJP national general secretary (organisation) and considered number 4 in the saffron party ranks, BL Santosh, who took to twitter to slam the opposition.

“Dead silence by Congress even after their Dalit MLA Sri Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy was attacked, house ransacked yesterday in Bengaluru . Total support for RIGHT TO RIOT ...? For them appeasement is the only official party policy,” claimed Santosh.

His tweet proved to be a perfect launch pad for the rest of the party leaders with MPs like Tejasvi Surya and Shobha Karandlaje also voicing their anger against the opposition parties.

“Will the Lutyens & liberals talk about this growing intolerance in a particular community in Bengaluru??!! This is nothing but the result of Congress party appeasement politics. Dear police commissioner, there must be very serious consequences for breaking law & rioting in the city!” said Karandlaje.

Meanwhile, Santosh continued to assault the Congress with the caste background of the Congress MLA and respond to Congress leaders' comments.

Responding to Congress leader and Tiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor, who asked the Karnataka government to take action against the perpetrators but not associate violence with an entire community, Santosh said: “Perfectly yes Sir ... Your own Party’s Dalit MLA was attacked . Police station destroyed . 20 something vehicles burnt . Why general words like incited & perpetrated ...? Keep the bat straight …”

A war of words also broke out between Congress legislator and former party state president Dinesh Gundu Rao and Santosh after the former accused the BJP national general secretary of trying to take “political mileage” out of pointing Murthy is a Dalit and allegedly trying to divide people on caste and community lines.
