BANGALORE: Paving the way for smooth completion of work on Namma Metro's northern corridor, the high court on Wednesday dismissed a writ appeal challenging a single-judge bench upholding acquisition of land for construction of the Soap Factory Station.
GM Babu had filed the appeal after his petition challenging acquisition of his nearly 1,000 sqm of land adjacent to Tumkur Road for the Metro project was dismissed.

A high court bench had earlier stayed construction of the station. The writ appeal was dismissed on Wednesday by a bench headed by Justice K Sridhar Rao.
On the appellant's request that the verdict be stayed so that he could move the Supreme Court on the issue, the bench ordered status quo for three weeks.
