A pro-Kannada organization observed a 12-hour bandh in different parts of the state on Saturday to protest incidents of violence against Kannadigas. Some activists claimed that the police had prevented them from holding a peaceful protest.

However, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda stated that no detentions had been made. He clarified that activists attempting to take out a rally or procession were taken to Freedom Park.

He also mentioned that no untoward incidents had been reported in Bengaluru. "Police have been deployed in all strategic and important places. This will continue till the evening. Nobody has been detained. Those who were found to take out a rally or procession have been taken to Freedom Park," he told reporters.
