RAMANAGARA: In a shocking incident, the body of a newborn boy was found in the toilet pit of a private hospital in Harohalli, Ramanagara, on Wednesday.
The body was found when housekeeping staff at Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research were cleaning the pit following a blockage. "The pit was blocked since Tuesday night. Probably, the body was dumped into the commode the same day," police said.
Will identify parents with DNA test: Cop
A senior police officer, said the identity of the parents of the newborn will be established through DNA analysis.
“We will have to collect CCTV footage from the hospital, particularly near the radiology department, to see who all passed by. Next, we will have to make a list of all pregnant women who visited the hospital over the past couple of days,” the officer said.
However, the officer didn’t rule out the possibility of miscreants bringing the body from somewhere else and dumping it in the hospital in a hurry. Acting on a complaint filed by Dr Madhu S, medical superintendent of the hospital, Harohalli police have filed a case under Section 94 (concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
