Live-in couple from Kerala arrested with drugs worth Rs 11cr
BENGALURU: A live-in couple from Kerala was arrested from their residence with drugs worth Rs 11 crore — 8,000 strips of LSD, 5kg of hydro ganja, 534 grams of charas and other narcotics.
"They were unemployed and fully into drug peddling. They procured drugs from a Kerala man living in Thailand, who would pass on details and contact numbers of consumers in Bengaluru," an investigating officer said.
In other raids, 1.5kg of hydro ganja — concealed in chocolate and biscuit packs and imported from Thailand — was seized from the foreign post office in Chamarajpet; two overstaying Nigerian women were arrested from their Mico Layout residence and shifted to the foreigners' detention centre in Nelamangala.
Whitefield police arrested 28-year-old Lingaraj Das and seized 3.2kg of hashish oil and 27kg of ganja, worth around Rs 50 lakh.
