This temple holds importance for many devotees for a special reason. Every Makara Sankranti around 5pm, sun rays first touches Nandi idol's horns and then bathes the Shivalingam. After about 10 minutes of this spectacular, the rays slowly fades its way out, leaving the devotees in awe.
