This earth should be ready for the coming generations, so it is the duty of all of us to plant trees. When we plant trees, we get oxygen. We must give the message of keeping Madhya Pradesh green.” He released an illustrated booklet claiming that plantation was done daily in the past two years.
Shivraj said that Shri Ram Astha Mission has taken the responsibility of taking care of this huge man-made forest near Raja Bhoj airport. “This will be the biggest man-made forest in the state. A total of 1,40,000 trees will be planted here. There is a plan to plant 120 species of plants in Shri Ram Van. The mission will be responsible for taking care of trees and plants,” he claimed.
Shivraj said that the plantation campaign is bringing out “positive” results. “Along with protecting the environment, families start the day by planting saplings on birthdays, marriage anniversaries and many other occasions. When husband and wife together plant saplings on their marriage anniversary, their relationship also gets strengthened. Similarly, planting saplings on the birthday of children gives happiness to all. Children also get the values of good work from a young age. They understand the feeling that planting trees means beautifying Mother Earth,” he said. He further said that planting saplings in the memory of parents and other deceased family members is a true tribute to them.
Shivraj further claimed that more than 15 lakh people have participated in Ankur campaign being run in the state. A total of more than 37 lakh saplings have been planted. A record of these plants is also being kept during the campaign. Many people from abroad have used the facility of getting the information about the plants they have planted from the QR code. The "Vayudoot" application has become an ally in this task, he claimed.
