Sultry conditions return after pre-monsoon showers take a break
Bhopal: After a brief respite in the form of pre-monsoon showers, day temperature was again above 40 degrees mark in the majority of places in the state. Harsh weather conditions were expected to dominate till the weekend.
Among the weather systems the meteorological dept stated, the cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
The cyclonic circulation over east Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood persists and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. A trough at mean sea level runs from Punjab to Bihar across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
A fresh western disturbance was likely to affect the western Himalayan region from June 11, the meteorological dept stated, adding that dry weather would prevail over the majority of places in the state.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 40.0 degrees celsius, a degree less than the normal mark, while the night temperature in the city was 26.8 degrees celsius, also a degree less than the normal mark. Day temperature in Khajuraho was 46 degrees celsius.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Wednesday the meteorological dept stated there would be partly cloudy sky. Day and night temperature would be respectively 40 degrees celsius and 27 degrees celsius, while average wind speed will be 18 kilometers per hour.
In the forecast for the state the meteorological dept issued warning of thunderstorm, lightning, gusty winds (40-50 kmph) for Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Maihar and Pandhurna dists.
A dry weather would prevail over remaining places in the state. In the weather outlook the meteorological dept underlined a gradual rise by 2 degrees to 3 degrees celsius in the next 2 days.
