Translocated gaur dies after getting trapped in farm fencing

Bhopal:

A female Indian bison also known as gaur died after getting entangled in a mesh of barbed wire in a private field in Bandhavgarh forest area on Monday. The Indian bison was recently shifted from Satpura Tiger reserve to Bandhavgarh.

Officials of Bandhavgarh tiger reserve informed that an Indian the animal had strolled into the fields of a local farmer and got entangled in the barbed wire around a private farm. Forest officials with the help of villagers released the animal, which had already died. Body samples have been collected for autopsy and later cremated.
