Govt suspends 3 engineers for ‘irregularities’
Bhubaneswar: The three senior engineers were suspended on Tuesday over alleged irregularities in Bargarh canal project.
As per an order of the water resources department, the engineers were suspended for alleged gross misconduct and dereliction of duty in executing construction of ‘box conduit over Bargarh distributary’ (phase-1 canal front development in Bargarh town) under canal division, Bargarh.
The suspended engineers are Madan Mohan Sethy, superintending engineer, Bargarh irrigation division; Raj Kumar Mishra, assistant executive engineer, Bheden irrigation sub-division and Ranjan Patel, assistant engineer, Bargarh canal section.
“They are placed under suspension with immediate effect and shall remain under suspension until further order,” the department order read.
The suspended engineers have been asked not to leave the allotted headquarters during their suspension period without obtaining prior permission of the competent authority, the order further stated.
