Ahead of President’s visit, Lahaul-Spiti administration imposes ban on aerial activity
Shimla: Ahead of President Droupadi Murmu's scheduled visit to Himachal Pradesh, the Lahaul-Spiti district administration imposed a complete ban on drones and all forms of aerial activity along the Sissu-Atal Tunnel stretch.According to the orders issued by Kiran Bhadana, the deputy commissioner of Lahul-Spiti, the area covering Sissu village, Sissu Nursery, Sissu helipad and up to the north portal of the Atal Tunnel will remain a "no unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) zone" from April 19 to April 30.Officials said that, along with drones, remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), paragliding, and any other airborne activities would remain banned. The administration has warned of strict legal action against violators.The district administration has also suspended all tourism and adventure operations in this zone during the period. Popular activities such as zip-lining and boating have been temporarily banned, with operators and vendors directed to vacate their sites by April 20.The President is scheduled to visit Himachal Pradesh for a six-day tour from April 27.MSID:: 130369028 413 |
