Hisar: Former
Haryana CM
Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the wind is blowing in favour of
Congress because public has weighed the work of both the govts, claiming peace and prosperity reigned during the Congress rule while miscreants and drug smugglers ruled during the
BJP tenure.
“We had never heard the name ‘chitta’ (heroin) in Haryana, but BJP has filled drugs in every vein of the youth by giving protection to drug smugglers.
Today, more deaths are taking place in Haryana due to drug addiction than in Punjab,” said Hooda while addressing a public meeting for Congress candidates in Hisar district.
“At the same time, law and order has collapsed. Every day ransom demands and murders are taking place. I promise that we will eliminate miscreants and drug smugglers from Haryana. No one will be allowed to play with the future of Haryana,” Hooda said.
The Haryana leader of the opposition said that BJP came to power by lying about doubling the income of farmers by 2022, but increased the cost manifold by hiking the rates of diesel, fertilisers and medicines. “Instead of getting MSP, farmers were entangled in portals and given dates after dates for crop purchase,” Hooda said, promising that if Congress formed the govt, farmers would be given legal guarantees of MSP with fair price and anti-people portals closed.
Hooda said that the Congress had ended the contract system and BJP itself became a contractor. “By running Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, youth have been exploited. Kaushal Rozgar Nigam became a den of corruption and jobs were distributed like in a grocery shop,” he said, alleging BJP robbed the reservation of Dalits and backward classes through this corporation. “The result is that today 2 lakh sanctioned govt posts are lying vacant in the state. Congress will fill these posts with complete transparency and merit under the recruitment act. Along with this, a policy will be made to regularise skilled workers and give them proper salary,” Hooda said.
