Hisar: The Punjab and Haryana high court has summoned Hisar superintendent of police to appear in person before the court in an alleged police excess case on June 10 and directed the state DGP to submit an affidavit outlining the action taken against the officers accused in the matter.
The directions were issued on a petition filed by Mohali-based advocate Amit Duhan. He alleged personnel of the Hisar crime investigation agency unit unlawfully entered his residence in Nayagaon, Mohali, Punjab, and later initiated retaliatory action against him.
The petitioner has alleged he was served a notice to join a police investigation on June 14 in connection with an FIR registered at Nayagaon police station on Dec 16, 2025, for an incident which allegedly occurred on Nov 30, 2025. The petitioner has contended that the notice was a countermeasure following his legal challenge against the police officials before the high court.
During the proceedings, the court was informed that five police personnel allegedly entered the advocate's residence without adhering to the legal procedure.
The next hearing is on June 10.
