ISI-backed terror plot unearthed, 1 held with IED

Amritsar: State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, claimed to have foiled a Pakistan ISI-backed terror plot with the recovery of an RDX-based improvised explosive device (IED) and the arrest of one suspect from Amritsar.A post uploaded by director general of police Gaurav Yadav on social media platform X said the preliminary investigation indicated that the accused was in contact with a foreign-based handler acting under the instructions of Pak-based handlers. The device was concealed in a PVC pipe casing to evade detection.An FIR was registered at PS SSOC, Amritsar, under relevant provisions of the Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and BNS. Further investigations are underway to unearth the complete terror network.
