Mann, Kejriwal meet Deepak Singla in Ambala jail
Ambala: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and former Delhi CM Atishi visited the Central Jail, Ambala, on Tuesday to meet jailed party functionary Deepak Singla.Mann reached Ambala in his official helicopter, while Kejriwal and Atishi came by road. The trio was welcomed by local AAP workers. They left for Ambala city rest house near the jail in a convoy of about 15 vehicles and held a brief meeting before proceeding to the prison.Strong security arrangements were put in place for the trio's visit. At the jail, the meeting took place for about 30 minutes before the AAP functionaries left the jail premises. No official statement was released by the AAP regarding the meeting or the discussion held with Deepak Singla.Singla was arrested in May 2026 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged bank fraud and money laundering case. The AAP has denied the allegations and condemned the ED's actions, terming the arrest politically motivated to intimidate the party and access its organisational data.MSID:: 131614071 413 |
