Chennai notch up 2nd win in a row

Chennai: Chennai Blitz registered their second successive win after getting the better of Kochi Blue Spikers in straight sets in the Prime Volleyball League here on Tuesday. Chennai, who defeated Hyderabad Black Hawks in their previous encounter, emerged victorious against Kochi 15-10, 15-12, 16-14. Kochi are yet to open their account, having lost their opening tie against Calicut Heroes 1-3. On Tuesday, blocker Akhin GS stole the show for the ‘hosts’ as he was involved in crucial saves and deservedly won the ‘Player of the Match’ award. Dhilip Kumar, a late entrant into the side, came up with offensive moves from the wings and brought Chennai back into the contest in the third set. Leandro Mejia and Dhilip delivered a successful double block and helped Chennai save a set point.
