Chennai: Two men were arrested for selling methamphetamine masquerading as food delivery agents.
Police sources said that N Magesh, 30, a BBA graduate who lived in Triplicane, and A Farooq, 29, a resident of Anna Nagar, were arrested for possession of 12gm of meth on Friday and were remanded to judicial custody on Saturday.
According to sources, their handler, Mudasir, employed them to deliver drugs to his customers. The customer would contact Mudasir and pay him. "He would then contact Magesh and Farooq and the two would arrive wearing the unifom of a popular online food delivery firm. They would collect the contraband and deliver it," said a police officer.
For each successful delivery, the duo was paid 500, police said.
Based on the information received by an ANIU team, a trap was laid for the duo. They were arrested on Rajaji Salai, police added.
Police are on the hunt for Mudasir.
