Oscar-winning director Kartiki Gonsalves honoured by TN CM MK Stalin

CHENNAI: The director of the Oscar-winning documentary film - The Elephant Whisperers - was honoured by the Tamil Nadu chief minister, MK Stalin on Tuesday.

Kartiki Gonsalves, the director of the film said it was a proud moment to bring back the Oscar to the home state, Tamil Nadu. “It’s a great honour. It is for the women, for conservation, for indigenous communities and for the protection of our wild species,” she said.

Supriya Sahu, additional chief secretary of the environment department stated that it was a great honour and a proud moment for Tamil Nadu.
