Mahashivratri festival at Isha Yoga Centre: Participants must take RT-PCR test

COIMBATORE: Isha Yoga Centre has made Covid-19 RT-PCR test mandatory for the public who want to attend their Mahashivratri festival on Thursday. All attendees will have to undergo medical screening.
Several lakhs of people used to attend Mahashivratri at Isha Yoga Centre. This year, organizers are expecting to see only 10,000 attendees due to Covid-19.
Isha Yoga Centre says participants this year are expected to largely join the event online.

“Medical screening, social distancing, wearing masks, and carrying sanitizers have also been made mandatory in addition to compliance with all government directives for in-person gatherings,” said a press statement.
The event will be livestreamed at isha.sadhguru.org/msr in English and other languages. The nightlong festivities include meditation at 11.40pm. The popular musical performance will include performances by popular bands including Kabir Cafe, Kutle Khan project, Sandeep Narayan, Mangli, Parthiv Gohil, Anthony Dasan, Sounds of Isha and dance performances by the students of Isha Samskriti. The night will also include a light and sound showing the origin of yoga, as part of the Adiyogi Divya Darshanam.
Isha’s annual three-day music and dance festival, Yaksha, began on Monday and will go on till Thursday. This festival includes performances by Hindustani singer Kaushiki Chakraborty, Carnatic musical performances by Sandeep Narayan and a Bharatanatyam dance performance by Isha Samskriti.
