Adani row: Vaiko slams Ramadoss for questioning Stalin
Coimbatore: MDMK general secretary Vaiko came to the defence of chief minister M K Stalin in the Adani row and alleged that PMK founder S Ramadoss was diverting the corruption charge against the industrialist by dragging the CM into the issue.
In a statement on Tuesday, Vaiko said there was no need for Stalin to respond to ‘irresponsible rumours.' He was responding to Ramadoss' statement seeking clarification from CM M K Stalin if he met Adani in Chennai.
Vaiko asked if Ramadoss would level charges against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his association with industrialist Gautam Adani. Explaining the bribery indictment of Adani by US prosecutors, Vaiko said Ramadoss should have questioned Modi on the issue. Instead, he was attempting to turn rumours into news and cast aspersions on Stalin in a bid to divert the issue, Vaiko said. However, PMK's efforts would not materialise, he said.
"Why hasn't PMK insisted the Union govt initiate action against Adani despite the complaints of bribery?" he asked.
