DEHRADUN: Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Uttarakhand with 250 fresh cases recorded in the first 14 days of June. The state has recorded a spike in sample positivity rate from 0.52% on May 31 to 2.13% on June 14.

In the first two weeks, the overall Covid cases in the state have increased from 92809 to 93058. Barring June 5, when only seven positive cases surfaced, on all other days - the state witnessed cases in double digits, according to the state health department's report.

The positivity rate was highest on June 8 at 2.68% and continued to be above 2% on June 13 and 14 as well at 2.40% and 2.13%, respectively, mentioned the report.

On Tuesday, 25 fresh Covid cases were reported out of which 22 were registered in state capital Dehradun, which currently has 85 active cases of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, out of the four char dham shrine districts, Uttarkashi - which houses Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines - currently has 10 active covid cases; district Chamoli where Badrinath shrine is located has four active cases; while Rudraprayag district, which houses Kedarnath shrine, has three active cases.
