NEW DELHI: Two people were injured in the Dichaon area of Delhi after a wall of an MCD school, along with an uprooted tree, fell on them due to heavy rains. The incident occurred on Friday, and the injured individuals have been identified as Rajesh, 25, and Ashok Kumar Yadav, 32.
"Due to heavy rain, an old and large Neem tree was uprooted and fell on the MCD school wall. This uprooted tree, along with the school wall, then fell on the riders of two motorcycles who were sheltering under the tree to avoid the rain," a police official said.
The injured were promptly taken to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital by PCR. Both motorcycles were damaged in the incident. Police officials have confirmed that Rajesh and Ashok Kumar Yadav have since been discharged from the hospital.
Parts of Delhi-NCR experienced rainfall on Friday, resulting in traffic jams and waterlogging in various areas of the national capital. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), significant rainfall occurred in some parts of Delhi, including Palam, from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm on Friday.
