Over 1,000 Flats Booked on Day One of DDA’s Jan Sadharan Awaas Yojana Phase II

New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority has received an overwhelming response to its Jan Sadharan Awaas Yojana Phase II, with over 1,000 flats in the LIG and EWS categories booked on the first day of launch. The booking process began on Nov 7, with 1,537 flats offered at Shivaji Marg (Moti Nagar), Ramgarh Colony (near Jahangirpuri Metro Station), Rohini Sectors 34 and 35 (along Urban Extension Road–II) and Narela, Sector G6–G7, Pocket 11 (adjacent to the proposed Rithala–Narela–Kundli Metro Corridor). On the first day, all flats in Rohini, Ramgarh Colony and Shivaji Marg were booked. "More than 1,000 units were booked on the opening day," said officials. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who reviewed the progress of the scheme on Saturday, emphasised the need to expand such initiatives to address the housing aspirations of all sections of society. DDA said the project aims to provide ready-to-move-in homes equipped with basic civic amenities, good connectivity, and access to public transport. Locations such as Rohini and Narela are being developed as well-planned residential hubs, benefiting from their proximity to upcoming metro corridors and the Urban Extension Road network. "These locations have been chosen to ensure that residents benefit from improved connectivity, essential amenities, and planned urban infrastructure," an official said.
