Woman and paramour arrested

NEW DELHI: A beautician and her paramour were arrested for murdering her husband in northeast Delhi four days ago. The accused have been identified as Sanjeeda and her paramour Babu Khan, a lawyer's clerk. They were arrested on Monday for allegedly murdering Mukhtyar Ahmad on January 28 at their residence in New Seemapuri.
Explained Sanjay K Jain, DCP (northeast), "During investigations, it came to light that Khan used to come to Ahmad's house regularly to meet Sanjeeda.Sanjeeda expressed ignorance about the murder. Later it also came to light that Khan and Sanjeeda had pretended to be husband and wife at her beauty parlour, where Khan would come to drop and pick her up in a scooter. On this suspicion, the team zeroed down on Khan."
Khan reportedly told police that he had an affair with Sanjeeda since several years as both of them are natives of Khurja in UP.
"Both of them maintained relationship even after Sanjeeda's marriage. When Mukhtyar came to know about the relationship, he objected and tried to stop his wife meeting Khan. As a result, a dispute broke out between husband and wife," explained DCP Jain.
This led to frequent quarrels and later Sanjeeda and Khan allegedly decided to kill Ahmad, said police.
"As per the plan, Khan came to Ahmad's house with an associate, Pappu. They talked to Ahmad and allegedly assaulted him with wooden stick on his head from behind. Pappu then strangled Ahmad. Efforts are on to nab Pappu," DCP Jain said.
Khan is married as well and has two sons and three daughters.
