Sarpanch of Arvalem loses trust vote

BICHOLIM: The sarpanch of the village panchayat of Arvalem, Priya Thakur, was on Friday voted out office by margin of 3-1 votes, through no-confidence motion filed by three panch members against her.
Sagar Malik, Guruprasad Naik and Sharad Malik had tabled a motion of no-confidence against Thakur few days ago. On Friday, when the panchayat authorities convened a meeting to discuss the matter, Thakur was voted out.
The election process was held under the guidance of block development officer Rajesh Dalvi, who was assisted by the panchayat’s secretary, Honaji Morajkar.
