CM Himanta Biswa Sarma addresses 5 poll rallies at Mariani
Jorhat: Assam chief minister and NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma during a by-election campaign rally in support of BJP candidate Rupjyoti Kurmi from the Mariani constituency, in Jorhat district.
JORHAT: Three days after his first visit to Mariani assembly constituency to campaign for his party candidate Rupjyoti Kurmi, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday addressed five poll rallies in the constituency.
Sarma once again chanted the development mantra of his government and made several promises to the people while appealing to them to vote for Kurmi.
The chief minister made several announcements to the crowds at Bor Nagaya gaon community hall, Seleng gaon panchyat field, Sycotta tea estate, Jungle Block High School and at Bapuji stadium in Mariani town for the development of Mariani.

Sarma also had lunch with tea garden workers at Sycotta tea estate in Mariani during his day-long visit to the constituency.
Sarma said, "The state government will provide Rs 50 lakh to upgrade infrastructure of Jungle Block High School, Rs 10 lakh will be provided for the development of 'Kendriya Harigriha' under Asom Darshan scheme, road connecting Jengoni-Morangaon-Hatijuri-Mariani will also be improved. Three high schools are currently under construction and another seven high schools will be set up soon, taking the total number of high schools to 10 in the tea estate. Dhodar Ali, the lifeline of Mariani, will be reconstructed. Road connectivity from Chaudangchuk to Budhbaria Bazar will be improved. A bridge will be constructed over the Janji river connecting Bhuyankhat and Amguri town."
